Disability North Day of Disabled People 2016

Disability North are holding their International Day of Disabled People again this year. It takes place on Saturday 3 December, 2016 at Gateshead Leisure Centre, Shipcote Lane, Gateshead, NE8 4JA  and it’s FREE.

About the Day

Each year, Disability North holds an event to celebrate the United Nation’s International Day of Disabled People. The event is a celebration of the services, facilities and projects in our region that promote inclusion and access for disabled people.

The theme of the event this year is sport – a fitting and exciting theme given this year’s Paralympics. Their aim is to celebrate diversity and inclusion in sport, as well as the many health benefits of an active lifestyle. The event will be host to an array of speakers and participatory activities, including presentations by Gateshead Special Olympics, Boccia trial sessions, Zumba and more.

If your organization would like to have a presence at the event, please contact Emma Banks at Disability North for more information (outreach stalls priced at £50 plus VAT):
