Running a home efficiently sometimes needs a little help. Here are some schemes and contacts to help make sure your home is warm and energy efficiency is as high as possible.

  • Oil CAN scheme. Countywide bulk-buying scheme for heating oil, calor gas and coal. The joint buying power achieves greater savings for customers.
  • Warm Hub scheme, Lunch Club Plus, 01289 304141

There are hubs across the county where you can have lunch and get advice on energy efficiency and other issues at the same time. They are all different, so ring for details on a hub in your area.


Energy Saving Advice Service

Impartial advice and information to help save energy and reduce fuel bills. They can send you a list of accredited installers. Also referral to ECO funding schemes for energy improvements.

Online information on fuel poverty, gas, water and electricity safety, and priority support for older or vulnerable people if their power or water supply is interrupted. Tips on keeping utility bills low, on using electricity and gas safely and staying safe around water. For priority support services, contact individual members of the group as below.

Practical advice on improving the warmth of your home and increasing energy efficiency. Grants for free insulation and boiler replacement if you are eligible, also free benefits advice. If you have cancer or some experience of cancer and are on a low income you may be eligible for free heating repairs or replacements. Ring for details.

For winter 2017-18 your birthday must be on or before 5 August 1953.
