End loneliness campaign

SIGN North Tyneside has started a campaign to End Loneliness in North Tyneside. They want to help residents of the borough find out about events, groups and activities that take place in their local area – to help them connect with other people and make friends, do things they enjoy and learn new skills, and ultimately reduce their feelings of loneliness.

Today the SIGN network has launched their new End Loneliness in North Tyneside on the SIGN website: http://www.sign-nt.co.uk/endlonelinessinnorthtyneside/

The webpage tells visitors how they can get involved in the campaign and support residents.

It’s simple! There are three things they are asking residents, local businesses and their employees to do:

  1. Visit the SIGN Directory online and find out what’s happening in your local area. Get involved in a group or an activity and start to feel the benefits of connecting with new people!
  2. Tell your friends, neighbours and others about the campaign and the SIGN Directory. Support them to get online if you can.
  3. If you run or attend a group, club or activity, tell us about it! You can add it to the SIGN Directory for free.

The SIGN Directory can be found at: https://services.northtyneside.gov.uk/sign/

If you are a SIGN member and want to add services and events, or update your SIGN Directory please follow this link: https://services.northtyneside.gov.uk/account/Public.Signin.aspx

To support the campaign add the following message to your Provider and Service Descriptions in the SIGN Directory.

Simply copy and paste the following text exactly as it appears and add your own organisation name:

YOUR ORGANISATION supports the **[Ending loneliness in North Tyneside Campaign](https://services.northtyneside.gov.uk/sign/Public.Service.aspx?ID=678)**

Follow the campaign on social media with twitter using @SignNorthTyne #endlonelinessinnorthtyneside

Over the coming months we will be working hard to get the message out to residents, local businesses and many more.

We want to make sure that everyone knows how to help someone who may be feeling lonely or isolated in our borough and make the most of the natural signposters within our area.
