NEPACS is a North East charity supporting families and children affected by the imprisonment of a relative.

The project aims to relieve the hardship that the families and children face during this difficult time.

Volunteers are vital to support families through the court case, on the day of sentencing and during the time their relative is in prison. They also give support for a short time afterwards, when their relative is released from prison.

NEPACS are holding an Open Day on  Wednesday 18 July on Newcastle quayside at the Pitcher and Piano.

The event is for anyone interested in finding out more about the charity and how they can become involved.

They would especially like to recruit people aged 50 and over, to support those in need.
