Acorn Renew and Recycle project, Newbiggin

The Acorn Renewal and Recycle project is now running! Organised by Spital Estate Community Association (SECA)   the project is based in The Elizabethan Hall in Newbiggin by the Sea.

Funded by Awards For All, the project seeks to work with local residents in three different ways:

  • To encourage residents to learn new skills such as practical and creative expertise, increasing confidence and planning skills, IT and eCommerce
  • To address issues of loneliness and isolation
  • To provide a framework of encouragement in order to help residents move further towards the job market.

The Acorn Renew and Recycle project has free workshops running three times per week and members of the community are invited to come along and enjoy a couple of hours renewing or learning new skills.  The project includes up-cycling furniture and selling online with all profits going back into the project.

Weekly Workshops

  • Tuesday (How to sell online) 1.00pm-3.00pm
  • Wednesday (Practical Workshop) 1.00pm-3.00pm
  • Thursday (Practical Workshop with guest expert) 6.00pm-8pm
